Before answering this question, another question should be asked about which Japanese car company produces the best Japanese car. In a survey conducted several times over among Asians and Americans, the best brand would be Nissan, and the top model of Nissan would be the Nissan Skyline.
Finding the Nissan Skyline, used or new is not that difficult. There are Nissan dealers in the US selling used or new models. It’s even possible to import one from Japan if you have the means and know how to go through the process.

Since the Nissan Skyline has been around for several years, and the older models are now considered classic cars, you can even search for one on your social network. This car has it’s own Facebook account with almost 30,000 avid friends/followers!

There are also quite a number of auction and reseller website featuring Japanese products and/or used cars. With the Nissan Skyline being the best Japanese car of all time, you can bet that at least one of these sites will have a Skyline on its virtual block.

What makes the Nissan Skyline Superior?

As one American Skyline owner puts it, “ Every drive gives me a smile, and never fails to attract a crowd.” It is a stunner and not very common on the road which makes it a showstopper everywhere it goes.

In terms of comfort and performance, the Skyline is wonderfully tuned and the parts do not break down for years. Among male drivers, a majority find that driving the Nissan Skyline never gets boring. It’s a man’s car that can get up to over 10,000 revolutions which is  a lot more than the Mitsubishi’s top model, the Evo. Naturally that means it’s perfect at high speeds and can handle tight corners like magic.

The later Skyline models which came after 1989, also called GT-R have been nicknamed Godzilla, the Nissan flagship car, and an iconic sports car. It is also one of the few Nissan cars that are exclusively manufactured in Japan.

Some of its amazing feats and achievements are:

  • The first production car in the world to run the Grand Prix race track, Nürburgring in less than 8 minutes
  • Won all of its races in Japan including a championship race in Australia from 1990 to 92
  • It has 4 wheel steering with the Super-HICAS and ATTESA-ETS 4WD technologies
  • Widely used for circuit and drag racing events
  • Exported only to Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, and the United Kingdom but recognized world-wide as an iconic car
  • Featured in many films like The Fast and Furious movie series and Wangan Midnight
  • Named best car in the world by Top Gear which called it a supercar
